Purchase: Bought about 4 years ago from an online ad for about $800. Bought to start my OTTB in eventing.
Likes: This saddle really puts you in the right position with knee rolls and thigh blocks. I have been using it for eventing for the past 4 years and it is good for dressage as well as the jumping phases. Very durable and comfy enough for riding everyday yet fancy enough for the show ring. Really easy to care for, I clean it about once every month during show season (and spiff it up before the show) and it stays looking great. Leather is soft and pliable. Craftsmanship is excellent as always with a Stubben, no rips, tear, holes; even though I bought it used and have ridden in it hundreds of times. Has 3 billet straps which is nice to fit a variety of girth sizes and shapes. I had been out of riding for about 10 years before I started eventing and had ridden in both Crosby and Stubben saddles in the past so looked at both types when purchasing this saddle, also tried several other brands that were recommended to me. I am so glad I ended up purchasing this saddle and will stick with stubbens as much as I can from here on out. Would recommend the spezial to anyone looking for an AP or jumping saddle.
