Purchase: I rode in my dressage instructor's Bates during a lesson at her place. I'm sure she paid over $1500 for it.
Likes: At first, I was excited to be trying it out after all the good things I heard about it. I couldn't afford to get one for myself at the time, but was appreciative to get the opportunity to try it out in case I considered getting one in the future. I was used to riding in less expensive or used dressage saddles, so this was special to me.
Dislikes: This saddle was built for a man, I tell you! The seat was rock hard and hurt my bum. It was also narrow and my hips hurt during my lesson. It put me in a weird position, like I was riding a bike. No support at all. I was VERY disappointed with it.
Quality: It was made of okay quality leather, nothing to write home about. The Wintec 500 was more comfortable than this saddle. And it's a synthetic! The flaps were too straight and it appeared it was designed for straight-hipped, typical man physique. Very uncomfortable saddle.
Summary: From that one time of riding in this saddle, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, unless you're a guy (no offense, you guys just have different conformation than us women ;) It is NOT worth the money you pay for it and should be priced way lower.
