Purchase: I entered a drawing at a local tack shop for a C/C saddle, which was in my size. I ended up winning, and found out it was a Bates Caprilli! I show hunters, and was happy i had won a quality saddle. Once i received it, i discovered it was a forward flap model.
Likes: It was buttery soft to sit in, and was made well.
Dislikes: The flap is just much to forward cut for anything except high jumpers! Flatwork is just so uncomfortable in this saddle. The forward flap puts me out of place over my normal 2'-2'6" jumps. Also, it puts my leg in an odd position on the flat, slightly farther back than i should be able to keep my leg.
Quality: Very well constructed, and flawlessly made.
Summary: My trainer recommended i sell it after a few lessons in it. I managed to sell it to a girl who shows around 4' and higher, and she loved this saddle. I used the money to buy a Pessoa A/O (i was scared out of buying a bates), and am happy. This saddle is ok, but just not right for me.
