Purchase: I bought the collar on Rods.com for $59.95, plus shipping.
Likes: My gelding was described in the advertisement as a "light cribber." What is that? If I were the one writing the ad, I would have described him as an "extremely dedicated cribber." I have no doubt it's his most important goal at all times. He could only take a couple of bites of hay before he felt the need to take a break to crib. Not only is it annoying, it would occasionally cause him to colic. Ugh! When I first picked him up, he was wearing a nutcracker that was so tight it was hard to get off. After loosening it a notch, he could get it to stick out to the side, crib, crib..and eventually broke it in half on something. I bought a miracle collar, but that didn't stop him. He could crib even while wearing a nutcracker and a miracle collar at the same time! After a week of that, he had sores, so I took them both off ("yippee!") and ordered the Dare Cribbing Collar. I still can hardly believe it, but it works!!! This collar is the real miracle, as far as I'm concerned. I would nominate it for the Nobel Peace Prize, as it hugely contributes to my peace (but not that of my horse).
Dislikes: My horse's crabby mood after I put the collar on. (hee hee)
Quality: I was skeptical that anything would work, but this is an intelligent design. It's heavy duty and doesn't have long (muddy)straps that hang off of it. The cylinder-shaped piece on the bottom is large enough to prevent the horse from holding his head and neck in the position necessary for cribbing without having to cinch it up so tight. (I think that's how it works.) Even while wearing it, the sores from the other collars are healing right up.
Summary: I LOVE it (even if my horse doesn't). Thank you for the invention! Do you know of anyone that wants to buy a miracle collar....cheap?
