Purchase: These cost me approximately $45 plus shipping for a set of four from Smart Pak Equine. I bought these because I like to wrap my stallions' legs in polos when I turn him out, but fleece polos are a) so hot in summer b) get soaked, with sweat or dew and come loose and c) are hard to get tight enough to stay in place. A boarder at my trainer's farm owned some of these and when doing the laundry I noticed the silicone back, so I thought they might work.
Likes: These are high quality and durable. The velcro really sticks together and the whole bandage is stretchy, not stiff. The silicone keeps the wrap from sliding down my horse's leg, and they really let moisture out, so my horse's legs are never wet under the bandage.
Dislikes: They are pretty expensive, and I would like to buy another pair. But $50 for polos??
Quality: Excellent, high quality construction and craftsmanship. This is a great piece of horse tack that holds up well and withstands quite a bit of abuse! The horse can't even rip them off! They say "The firm controlled stretch of the Saratoga Bandage offers more support to the lower leg than any other product of its type. A patented silicone application on the inside of the bandage stops it from slipping and has been further refined for a more secure fit and even pressure distribution."
Summary: Well worth the investment. These are hands down the nicest polos I've seen, and they actually STAY ON. Polos notoriously side down the legs, and these are easy to fasten (velcro, no pins or ties) and stay in place even if left on for two days. THE POLO.
