Purchase: I bought this saddle several years ago on the advise of a trusted instructor. Her saddles were always leather and made with sprung trees, that seemed to fit every horse and serve every purpose (general riding, jumping and dressage) over their years of use. I thought it would be better to pay that little bit more for longevity and being fit for purpose. With this saddle, I haven't been disappointed.
Likes: The saddle is comfortable for horse and rider and looks terrific in the brown leather. We are always getting comments about it. It is more versatile than a stock saddle for beginners in that as it allows rider movement when learning to trot, with the added security of a knee roll (in the event a certain young horse decides not to go!).
Dislikes: I don't like the fact that there aren't a lot more of them around - definitely not many second-hand but perhaps this is because they are all being used!
Quality: Excellent workmanship and not that hard to keep looking great.
Summary: having a good saddle means a lot to the novice. It takes the guesswork out. If you know that the saddle fits, the horse is comfortably and so are you. Then you can concentrate on riding!
