Purchase: I got this saddle for my birthday from dover's summer sale for $1500 on sale from around $2500.
Likes: Pretty much everything! It is so comfortable! The leather is amazing quality and so soft. It hardly needed breaking in when i got it and it was hardly slippery. The color was pretty when i got it and is even better now that it has been oiled. Knee rolls are soooo squishy comfortable and the seat is comfortable too. Very balanced and put together good.
Dislikes: Can't think of anything. Billets are stiff,but they are nylon lined so thats a plus since they won't stretch. Also, the panels need to be oiled again, because they didn't soak up evenly.
Quality: Its fabulous. I'll never need another saddle.
Summary: This is the saddle you want! I would pay the full $2500 for it.
Also, some reviews of the bdh special edition said it was very narrow. The bdh original is normal fitting. It fits all my horses to stocky short paints to 16.1 hand warmblood builds, to more narrow horses.
