Purchase: Several of my friends told me about this product and after two years I decided to give it a try.
Likes: They work! My vet tells me mine is one of the few places he visits in the summer and does not come away with a truck full of flies. I start early in the season and make sure to keep my manure pile covered. We also spread some of the manure so I am diligent about putting fly wasps near that area. Keeping the ranch clean is important to success. The wasps arrive on schedule and if there is any problem the people at Spalding are most helpful and accommodating.
Dislikes: If you use the fly wasps, you cannot use feed through fly control. I like the idea of hitting the problem from all angles. We find the predators work so we don't have to use the feed through supplement.
Quality: The fly wasps come in a package of pre-hatched eggs. You simply wait until they wake up and then spread them within a few hundred feet of the manure.
Summary: I am happy to have this natural choice. My horses don't have to be sprayed all the time and we don't have to expose them to the feed through products. While those products are deemed safe, they still carry some risk.
