Purchase: I purchased this bit through Dover Saddlery for my Oldenburg. The 5.5 inch bit I had was not working out and he needed a 6 inch. I heard good things about this bit and that the special Aurigan material helped the horse salivate and accept the bit better. I paid $99.90 on Sale and got a free Herm Sprenger Tote bag with it.
Likes: I like that it is a kind snaffle. Most Importantly, my horse LOVES it. He salivates nicely during our trail rides/dressage practice and it fits him nicely. It was hard to find a 6 inch bit and Herm Sprenger was able to supply us with one. The bit is smooth and the Aurigan makes it delightful for my horse. It also has a "lozenge" link in the middle to "pacify" nervous horses.
Dislikes: The price is a bit extreme, but if my horse likes it, so be it ;)
Quality: Made of Aurigan, O-ring Snaffle with lozenge link in the middle. Aurigan encourages salivation and acceptance of the bit. Also comes in sizes above 6 inches.
Summary: Nice bit, but you may have to save up for it like I did. Would recommend this bit to any level rider.
