Pro Buffalo Dressage Saddle (adult version, not "junior")
Dressage Saddles

Manufacturer: Henri de Rivel
Model: Pro Buffalo Dressage Saddle (adult version, not "junior")
Category: Dressage Saddles

Purchase: I purchased this saddle new at a local tack store for around $800. It can be purchased on line in range of $875-$1200. My purchase price was less due to it having a surface scratch on one of the underside panels.

Likes: I LOVE this saddle. The majority of the leather is made of well constructed buffalo skin, while the knee rolls are made from a buttery soft calf skin. ( French leather, assembled in Argentina). Excellent workmanship and attention to detail. The leather is supple. The seat is fairly deep with a med-narrow twist. Very comfortable not only in the ring, but I use it for LONG trail rides. My rear end and my legs are both comfortable and there is no more ache from sitting in shallow seated saddles on trail. The knee rolls are very well placed, and while they help hold you in correct form/position, they do not restrict your movement. Excellent balance of seat depth to knee roll position (especially since I am a tall rider 5'9"). Pommel area is cut back to fit my high withered TB. Long flaps. Wide channel that continues equally from front to back. Well padded gullet and all wool flocked. Lots of "cush" for the "tush".

Dislikes: NOTHING!

Quality: See above comments.

Summary: This is an EXCELLENT saddle in the mid-range price. In fact, I tested several better known "name" brands in the $2000 range, and kept coming back to this saddle. I would recommend it to anybody!
