Purchase: My husband and I just moved our horses to a new barn. In order for us to get to the trail, we have to ride on the road for about 2 miles. I was told a boot would protect my horse's feet from the hard road. I bought them at Carrol County Tack in Maryland. They were $120.00.
Likes: Measuring for the boots is simple. Just follow the directions on Cavallo's website and take the measurements to a dealer. Make sure you measure right after your horse has a trim, otherwise you might buy a boot that is too big. My horse is 14.3 hands and wears a size 0. They fit perfectly. They are easy to put on and take off. They are all leather. The straps stay secure. The boot does not turn. We have walked, trotted, cantered, and jumped in them without any problems. She doesn't even know they are on. They have holes in them so water can escape if you walk through water. They haven't damaged her hooves or rubbed her pasterns.
Dislikes: Nothing so far.
Quality: Great construction and quality. Fine in water and mud. All leather with a rubber bottom.
Summary: Totally worth the money! They protect the hooves in all situations, especially on rocks and roads. Doesn't hold my horse back. In fact, she stumbles less and is less apprehensive to walk on rocks etc. No problem walking, trotting, cantering, running, and jumping.
