Purchase: bought directly from the maker, to show western pleasure, for just under $4000.
Likes: LOVE the seat, the position it puts you in, and the silver dots I ordered custom - also loved that I could pick out EVERYTHING from the leather tooling and silver design, to seat color, to where I wanted the dots. I also had it built as a 16" seat then padded to 15 1/2", which is soooo comfy. I also love that I could have spent $8000 on a comparable Phil or BR, but I didn't have to.
Dislikes: As a brand new saddle, the stirrups are VERY slippery, and my foot slips out of them ALL the time. I wouldn't want to use it for horsemanship until it's more broken in.
Quality: It's a very nicely constructed saddle, seat is comfortable and the tree is top quality, as is the silver (sterling, not overlay junk). The leather is hand tooled herman oak leather, and is just gorgeous.
Summary: Overall, this saddle is all the quality for a lot less than a Phil Harris or Blue Ribbon (I also have a Blue Ribbon and this saddle is VERY comparable): same leather, same tree, same silver, just a different name.
