Purchase: I bought this saddle used from Beval. It was listed on their site for $1,495. Although they are around $2,000 new.
Likes: First off, for a used saddle, it showed no sign of wear at all except VERY MINOR indentions on the billets; they were hardly noticeable. The saddle had been oiled by Beval and was already extremely soft. The leather quality is just amazing. Comparable to more expensive brands. This saddle really put my leg in a good position. The saddle is deep enough to really sit down and back in it, but it won't hold you in like some saddles. The saddle was also very pleasing to look at and cleaned up nicely. Short points allow this saddle to fit most horses. A medium tree fits my very round QH well.
Dislikes: Absolutely nothing!!!! This saddle is amazing. If I was going to be picky, I would say the leather is so soft that it scratches easily. However, if you clean it, they will buff right out.
Quality: Excellent. Better then expected at the price. With care these saddles will be around for a while. I can't wait till mine breaks in and darkens more with continued use.
Summary: As said above, this is one of the best saddles I've ever ridden in. Although not as good as an Antares, Butet, etc., this saddle is definitely comparable. If you want a good saddle but can't pay for the more pricey brands, this is the saddle for you!
