Purchase: I bought this from my next door neighbor after he sold his big mule. I think I paid $350 which was a lot for me to pay for just a spare saddle.
Likes: I soon learned how little I paid because it has what I was told is a Chuck Shepherd tree rawhide over wood and although it is very plain, it is soooooo comfortable because the cantle is 13" wide for butt comfort and even though it is a 15" seat, it feels much bigger. I like it for breaking babies and on playful horses with too much energy because the weight wears them out faster. Recently a friend forgot her saddle at home and borrowed it and fell in love and liked it better than hers even though hers was an expensive custom saddle. I live in Arizona so my favorite other saddle with the ralide tree couldn't take the heat and the tree shattered so now this is my primary saddle.
Dislikes: I must admit, it is a little heavy for me because I am used to saddles with ralide trees but once I get it on my horse, both she and I are happy.
Quality: This saddle is such god workmanship and quality that it will probably outlive me.
Summary: Overall this is the most functional, well built saddle I have ever ridden in and would recommend it to anyone who likes function and comfort over bling. I would recommend buying one and adding bling if that is your thing.
