Purchase: I bought these at Mary's about 3 years ago. I paid about $35-$40 for them. These were my first pair of half chaps (and are the only one's I've had since).
Likes: I love almost everything about these chaps! I prefer the slender, zip up look to the bulky velcro chaps that several of my friends have. I got the brown pair, size L because I usually rode in jeans, now I ride in riding pants and they're a little big, but they still work great. I've had these things for about 3 years, they've been through everything. For the past year I've been riding 6-7 times a week and I can't think of more than 2 rides when I haven't worn them. They're very comfortable, I don't even feel them when I have them on. I ride in Georgia and they're not too hot either! Both the zipper and the button have held up all these years. These things take like 2 seconds to put on and take off!
Dislikes: Many people have complained about the height of the chaps. That was a problem for me at first, too. But after they broke in, well, it didn't matter! They fit like cloth and it doesn't bother me at all now, the chaps have pretty much formed to my legs.
Quality: Amazing. For the zipper and stitching to hold up this long with ME should tell you a lot. I put my horse attire through hell and these things haven't broken down on me yet.
Summary: These chaps are amazing quality for only $40. In fact, you might as well be stealing them for that price. :) Everyone I talk to about them has a hard time believing the zippers have held up this long. My friend had a pair of Ariat half chaps and the zippers broke after a year or so of use.
