Purchase: We bought the cooler at Dover Saddlery. We actually investigated all the coolers in the store and decided on this one because it really seemed a great price for the item and also because it looked so nice and felt so soft. Our wool cooler was heavy and looked like it would need a lot of dry cleaning. We paid $62.50.
Likes: This cooler is absolutely beautiful. It has a wonderful front satin like lining and a very handsome trim that goes perfect with the color of the fleece. We saw it in both black with gold trim and light grey with a really super purple trim. It has a front closure,a hidden surcingle and a tail cord. They were all very easy to use.
It was easy to toss over our horse and not at all as clumsy as our present wool cooler.
It also was really fast to air and dry even when our horse was sweating after a jump course. I love this cooler.
Dislikes: It is pretty large for our horse but the size down was too small. The satin inside is a bit on the fragile side but I think if we are just careful it should be fine.
Quality: It has a real tough stitching, meaning, I doubt that any of the ties can rip off. The decorative binding is really well done and I saw no signs of it giving. The fleece is a higher quality than others. I am not so crazy about the satin like front lining. I can see that being a real problem on a more aggressive horse.
Summary: I believe that this cooler is attractive and does what it should do. I am thinking that I will buy another one so that I have two for the winter season.
