Purchase: I bought this cinch from State Line Tack for ~$32. I recently bought my first horse and and collecting tack. Since the farm i ride at uses these, I decided to buy one in the size I need.
Likes: I've seen from the collection that my farm has that they hold up well under heavy use (they have a business of public trail riding, so their gear sees a lot of use & is not pampered). The design offers good grip and easy cleaning w/ a nice, neat look. It looks much more comfortable for the horse than the old-style rope cinches. the neoprene distributes pressure well and prevents slippage, allowing a slightly looser girth.
I was pleased when I received my girth to see that it has a roller bar on the left side (the older ones at my farm do not have this). It make sit much easier for a weakling like me to tighten the cinch and it makes for a smoother motion so that it seems more comfortable from my horse too (she has sometimes seems uncomfortable when I'm tugging at the cinch trying to tighten it).
Dislikes: The outside fabric of the girth - the "fuzzy" side that the velro sticks to- holds horse hair pretty well, but it brushes out.
The cinch is currently available in black & brown. I believe it was previously available in more colors, but what I've seen my be a look-alike brand. Neutral colors work for me, but I know some people like to match their cinch to their pad.
Quality: This girth is of good quality construction and the older ones I've handled have held up very well.
Summary: I'm pleased w/ this product (probably the least expensive purchase related to my new horse that I can say this about) & expect to remain satisfied for years to come.
