Purchase: My trainer uses these and these girths alone at her barn for all her horses. She must have a dozen of them in all different sizes.
Likes: They are easy to wash---just pull apart and throw in the washing machine. I really like how they have elastic on both ends. That means that you can easily adjust the girth from either side. I had no idea how much more convenient this was until I tried these girths. It's a fabulous idea. Since they're synthetic, they're easy to wash and last through many washes.
Dislikes: They get dirty really easily and show the dirt quite well so they need constant washing. As in, pretty much every ride. Being neoprene, some horses are allergic and in the summer months they're super prone to causing the horses to sweat a lot. Also, being that they velcro together, I imagine it's easy to lose half of the girth.
Quality: The velcro seems to hold up well, despite numerous washings. The elastic hasn't lost its stretch, either. The elastic seems to collect dirt easily (the whole thing does, in fact), so it does change the color of the elastic ends to a gross grey color.
Summary: The girth is well made and sturdy and certainly excellent for schooling, but far too ugly for a show girth. The horses generally seem to find them comfortable and it's nice that you can easily adjust it from either side, even when mounted. This is a nice girth to have around the barn for everyday use, and great for training.
