Purchase: My horse was left extremely lame after a really bad trim and shoe reset. The farrier took off too much hoof wall and sole and nailed a few of the nails into his actual hoof.
Another farrier suggested I use hawthornes hoof freeze up to 5 times a day.
After 2 weeks of applying this product my horses feet were hardening enough, he was comfortable to walk on concrete. Now after 4 weeks he is sound barefoot, for the first time ever.
He has a lot more hoof to grow but I am now only applying this product 2x a day and he isn't ouchy anymore.
I now use it on my other barefoot horse who can get a little sore trail riding and it really helps her.
Likes: I love this product, it actually does what it is supposed to do.It hardens the soles and eases the discomfort of bruised feet and thin soles. It comes n an easy to use bottle with an applicator nozzle.
Dislikes: There isn't really anything to dislike except it stains anything it comes into contact with, and would be better if the nozzle had a brush applicator
Quality: Comes in a strong plastic bottle.
Summary: Ive used all kinds of hoof hardeners and this is the first product that has actually worked.
You have to be very consistent with the application, but it does really ease the soreness and toughens the sole.
