Purchase: I happened upon this saddle on Facebook, while looking up tack for sale. I saw the ad in October, and contacted the seller in November. The company that sold it to me is called Twin Cities Tack and Consignment. I was in need of a saddle of precise measurements to fit my Warmblood gelding. This saddle cost me $304, and came used but in EXCELLENT condition.
Likes: The saddle is nearly brand new, and fits both myself and my horse wonderfully. The knee rolls are modest, and there is just enough room at the front of the saddle that, should my gelding bulk up with more riding, it would still fit him well. There is even pressure on my gelding's side all the way down the front edge of the flaps, and he moves freely and happily in it. His shoulders are not hindered whatsoever in their movement. For my part, the seat is scoopy, but not too deep. It is also very comfortable and padded for the rider. There is just enough suppleness to the flocking and leather that we both feel free to move and get comfortable. The quality of leather is astounding, and isn't "sticky."
Dislikes: I love this saddle. I have no complaints. My only complaint is that I didn't buy it sooner!
Quality: This saddle went through shipping and came out of the box like new. The tree is medium/wide, it has a 6" gullet, and it is 9" d-ring to d-ring. The flaps are 18" long and it is double-flapped, the upper flap having 1.25" frontal blocks (no rear blocks). The saddle is beautifully put together from one side to the other, and the leather color (taupe and black) is beautiful and unique. It is aesthetically pleasing as well as functional.
Summary: I had seen a nice Moritz jumping saddle a few years back and didn't have the chance to pick it up, but when I saw the wonderful price on this one, I could not pass it up. This was a steal of a deal, and one I will not soon forget. The fact that it fit my horse well simply based off of measurements taken, attests to its quality. I didn't get to trial this saddle as it was from out of state, so this was a great purchase! I HIGHLY recommend this saddle!
