Purchase: I bought the saddle at a used tack shop here in Denver, CO. It has a 17 1/2" seat and is a reining saddle. It was bought for a large man with a large, wide horse. I paid $650.00 for the saddle. It appeared to be used but not ridden very much. Everything was in great condition.
Likes: I bought this saddle used for but in excellent condition. Did not look as if it was ever used. It rides beautifully. Sits well on the horse. It is wide enough for my big bodied morgans and sits clear of the should blades to allow the horse to move freely. The leather quality is also excellent. Stirrups went short enough for my 5'2" frame and long enough for someone six feet tall. The saddle has never made a horse sore or rubbed any were.
Dislikes: Because the saddle has a very large seat it is a bit too heavy and big for me. It is a very comfortable saddle other than being a bit big for me.
Quality: The saddle is very well made and the leather is good quality. The construction is great. I love this saddle except for the size.
Summary: It is a great saddle and I am planning on buying another from H&H but with a smaller seat, more my size. This saddle is one I can ride all day even if it is a reining saddle. I use it for everything. I am going to order one very similar but with a smaller seat and double rigged as that is my preference. This saddle seems to fit all my horses well. Love the tree that is in this saddle and the shape of the bars fit a horses back very well.
