Purchase: I purchased this saddle at a local tack shop for regular price: $729 + free saddle case and gullet kit. I DESPERATELY needed a new dressage saddle to fit my Oldenburg properly without breaking the bank.
Likes: I liked the look and the grippy equisuede. I also thought it fit at first, until....
Dislikes: I discovered the sweat marks on my horse after riding and saw how the saddle was sitting directly on his spine. The channel between the panels is NOT wide enough for broad spines. The channel is wide like it should be in the front under the pommel, but then it tapers down and gets smaller under the cantle/back area of the saddle. The seat was also too small for me, even so it was the largest size, an 18 inch. I'm NOT fat, I am tall with wide set hips...it just didn't suit my conformation or my horse's.
Quality: The construction is sturdy and it is well-made. It is VERY attractive and looks comparable to the Isabell Werth saddle, except is doesn't have as deep a seat as the Isabell Werth. It's easy to clean and is made out of Wintec Equisuede, which provides awesome grip...especially on a big-moving Warmblood. It has the CAIR Panel System.
Summary: I wouldn't recommend this saddle for baroque warmbloods, Arabs, or draft horses. The channel is just TOO small and will compromise your horse's comfort. It WOULD be okay for narrower, prominent-withered horses though. Right now, I'm taking the Pro back to the tack shop and exchanging it to try the Wintec Wide All Purpose...I had my heart set on a dressage saddle, but I think this saddle will work for my Oldenburg and Arab, being that they both have REALLY broad spines, where the pro would have only been for my Oldenburg if it fit him. Otherwise, if this doesn't work, I'm back to the drawing board again
