Purchase: I ordered this saddle from Dover Saddlery for $729. I ride mostly western but wanted to give dressage a try without spending too much money. The folks at Dover were very helpful and recommended this saddle for my wide Quarter horse after I sent in my wither tracings (none of the other saddles in my price range were wide enough for him).
Likes: This is a really comfortable saddle. As a rider new to English, I love the grippy equisuede! I had tried a Thorowgood dressage saddle before buying the Wintec. Neither my horse nor I liked the Thorowgood with its FISH system. My horse moves out well in the Wintec Pro Dressage and I think he really likes the CAIR panels. I also like the changeable gullet system. Although some people say that these saddles don't have a wide enough channel for broad backs, it worked for my "bulldog" type Quarter horse. (I recommend having a saddle fitter look at any new saddle for your horse, even if it has a changeable gullet system.)
Dislikes: The only thing I don't like is that the equisuede gets dusty easy. I love everything else about this saddle.
Not really a complaint, just a word of caution: I had a saddle fitter check this saddle on my horse and she told me that the Wintec tree could warp in extreme heat. Summers in California can be very hot, so I just take this saddle home instead of leaving it at the barn if needed.
Quality: It's put together very well and the quality is excellent. I've had this saddle for 3 months and have not had any problems with the construction of the saddle or with the CAIR panels.
Summary: For what I want to do, the Wintec Pro Dressage is perfect. I'm not a serious dressage rider, but wanted to do something different with my horse. The Wintec Pro Dressage is a quality saddle at a good price. I definitely recommend it!
