Purchase: I started Platinum Performance for my Arabian after years of frustration with his health. I struggled to keep weight on him and to keep him eating. His coat never looked right and he was a very finiky eater. It costs me $2.43 a day for this supplement per horse on auto ship.

Likes: I've been using Platinum Performance for about a year and my horses have never looked so good. The problematic Arab is at a very good weight, he grew a great coat and has not needed blanketing all winter in Minnesota temperatures (he has a run in shed that he almost never uses). Best of all he has not gone 'off' his feed. That was a typical problem, he would do fine on a supplement or a new feed for a few months--then decide he wouldn't eat it any more. Then he would start spiraling down, getting thinner and thinner. I spent a lot of money at the U of MN trying to solve this problem and they called him a 'connundrum' i.e. they didn't know what was wrong with him. When he was a patient there he looked like an abused horse skeleton. I had made some progress over the past years with him and could sometimes get him to a reasonable weight--but would stop eating for literally any reason. With the P.Performance I only give a small amount of grain once a day and grass hay 24/7. He is waiting for his breakfast every day and licks out his feedbag. I also feed this supplement to an elderly Haflinger and he is keeping a good weight and doing well also.

Dislikes: It is expensive. No two ways about it. But I feed very little concentrates with the supplement--just enough to disguise the granuals (except for the Arab who gets some soaked beet pulp) and I save somewhat that way. It's also much cheaper to keep healthy horses than pay for vet bills.

Quality: The results I have gotten are the best testament to the quality of the supplement.

Summary: I'm on the auto shipment of Platinum Plus and appreciate not having to worry about ordering when the tub gets low. This supplement is worth the cost to me at this point. I wonder how many other horses would look and feel better if they had optimum feed. It's been a good investment in my horses' health.
