Likes: The "fit" is different from any blanket I've ever used, but it wasn't bad for my seemingly hard to fit warmblood (more narrow, TB type) gelding. Weatherbeetas and Rhino Wugs were rubbing his shoulders really badly, even after trying different sizes, so I wanted to try something different. I actually REALLY liked the way it put no pressure at all on his shoulders! And it looked nice on him and has a nice big tail cover. Waterproofing has been excellent.
Dislikes: The things I did not like, were that there are T-lock fasteners that go across the front of the chest under the big flap part. The length of the blanket fit him well, but with the front straps set as small as they would go, they were still loose across the front of his chest and they come undone ALL the time. Because of the way the flap closure is designed, at least the blanket doesn't fall off! (I do love the big velcro and upper T-lock clasp on the flap.) I just wish the chest straps were more adjustable. I am not a fan of the slots the surcingles go through, I like being able to pull the sides of the blanket down and around the horse's belly...with the straps through the slots, you can't do that (but you can just not use the slots, I guess). The biggest disappointment I have with the blanket is that the trim binding along the bottom left side of the blanket is already coming off with probably around 15 days of my horse wearing it. I'm sure it got caught on the fence or something, but if I hadn't been using the surcingle slots, the sides of the blanket would have been wrapped closer to his body and probably wouldn't have gotten snagged.
Quality: 1200 denier fabric actually seems pretty good. Not pleased with the binding already coming off.
Summary: There are some features of this blanket that I really do like, but it needs a few tweaks before I would consider buying another.
